Japanese Man Arrested for Stealing 101 Manga Volumes
Yōichi Yonehata, a 23-year-old unemployed man, was charged…or stealing 101 volumes of manga. The suspect reportedly said, “I’m in deep debt, so I was going to resell the books back to used bookstores.”
…He allegedly took about 50 volumes out of the store in a plastic bag, hid them in a parking lot, and then went back to get more. He was caught when a nearby bicycle store’s employee spotted him.
Ray’s take: is it me or people really are getting dumber in Japan? Maybe it’s because they’re not used to commit crimes so they do something stupid when they do try. Last time it was the net cafe robbery, in which the person who goes there and practically lives there everyday decided to rob it, and this time this guy goes right back in after stealing a lot of manga, wtf?
But, I want to thank him for giving us something to laugh about! Thank you, Mr. Yōichi Yonehata, you won’t be missed and have a nice stay in jail! XD
It just might be that criminals as a whole aren’t that bright. At least the ones that get caught. 🙂
