Cosplayers, would you apply?

I was lazily searching around Youtube for good anime-related stuff (no really, even us at the Anime Diet run out of ideas and get a real life sometimes), and I found the video of a cute Asian girl giving out a tutorial on making anime eyes. I guess it’s classic shojo anime eyes. Give it a look and tell me if you’d use any of her tips for your own cosplay.

Definitel classic shojo manga eyes but not the type for male-oriented anime eh?

I'm a hardcore Anime Fan and I'm proud of it. I know so many things and I've acquired so much knowledge you wouldn't believe. But my love is anime. I've been drifting in this world for so long that I don't even know what an anchor means. I've seen so many shows that I've lost count. The only thing I'm sure of myself is that I care for the lowly and disenfranchised. I hate the rich and powerful and I love what I do, or what I can do. I like anime and I don't mind watching different types of shows. I have experience in different types of Japanese animation. I would be called an "expert" in a bizzaro world. One day, I'd like to start a revolution. I love the US, pizza, beer, sashimi, Chinese food, and steak. But I love freshly baked bread more than a well-aged steak. In reality, if I were born Japanese I'd be a real, hardcore Otaku. I love to love and I can hate strongly. I'm passionate in nature and I don't mind shedding tears. 1. I apply Photoshop directly to the face. 😀

A little more seriously, that tutorial looks fine on the demonstrator, but I’d lay off some of the eye liner since that tends to smudge quickly and make the cosplayer look emo. Each person would need to alter the makeup and application to make it work best for herself since people don’t share an exact same face shape or skin tone.

  2. I’ve seen that lady’s videos before. She’s pretty. ^^ I don’t do well with eye makeup, though, sadly. SMUDGE galore, boo.

  3. Hmm.. sure is definitely classic shoujo eyes, but I would agree with Atashi, not every one has the same type of eyes, and you do know that she is Asian, so of course she would fit more with the look of anime eyes. But argh… it is so hard to do eye makeup.. if you want to definitely use this video, make sure you have steady steady hands, and is use to this type of attaching for fake eyelashes. I know I can’t do it.

  4. A beautiful woman!
