Anime “Turkey! Time to Strike” Serves Up First Trailer and Opening Theme

The pins are set, and the excitement is building! Fans of anime and the thrill of the strike can rejoice as the first trailer for the upcoming series “Turkey! Time to Strike” has just been unveiled. The trailer offers a glimpse into the vibrant world of high school bowling and features the catchy opening theme song, “Hyakunichisou,” performed by the Ikkokukan High School Bowling Club from Nagano Prefecture.

Anime Story

“Turkey! Time to Strike” centers around the Ikkokukan High School Bowling Club, located in Chikuma City, Nagano Prefecture. At the heart of the story is Mai, described as “a genius who never wins,” and her teammates – the determined Rina, the thoughtful Sayuri, the spirited Nozomi, and the steadfast Nanase – Mai navigates the challenges of competition, friendship, and personal development. The narrative is described as a unique blend of mystery, precious moments, bittersweet experiences, and irreplaceable bonds, suggesting a story that will resonate with viewers on multiple levels.

Music

The opening theme song, “Hyakunichisou,” is performed by the five members of the bowling club at Ikkokukan High School in Nagano Prefecture, with lyrics and composition by Yuho Kitazawa of Q.I.S. The series’ evocative score is crafted by the talented composer Yuki Hayashi.

Jeremy was first introduced to anime with heavily edited versions of Mazinger Z (aka Tranzor Z in the US), GoLion (aka Voltron) and Macross (aka Robotech) while growing up in the 1980's. Since then his tastes have evolved into a fairly eclectic mix of anime with a soft-spot for underdog shonen stories, psychological/cyber-punk stories and select love comedies. Jeremy was also the head organizer of Anime Souffle anime club in Los Angeles. It was at an Anime Souffle meeting where he met Michael Huang and eventually was invited to join as a guest co-host for Scattered Cells Podcast episode #6 in February of 2007.
