Evangelion: 1.0 is Now Top Grossing Eva Movie

Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone, the first of four new Evangelion movie remakes which opened September 1, has grossed 1.468 billion yen or the equivalent of US$12,774,801 at the Japanese box office, making it the top grossing movie in Gainax and Khara’s science fiction franchise to date.

Ray’s take: does Anno swim in yens and does some millionaire Otaku chick like Nagi some girl come and ask him to spend one night together??? Uh…yeah…like…that doesn’t even work at all…Please, no sympathy laughs here.

BTW, Ikari “Mike” Gendo was seen spending a day with a girl wearing thick rimmed glasses in LA…
