Amagami SS, Nakata route!

Oh my gosh! Too cute!

Nakata Sae, oh my gosh, she’s really really cuuuuuuuuuuuteeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! The third arc of Amagami SS is Sae-chan! The embodiment of cuteness! I mean, the game version of her is really cute. It’s regrettable that Anime version of Sae-chan is very disintegrating, drawing-wise.

Darn it! Yeah, I thought my favorite was Morishima-senpai. Yet, that was until I encountered Sae-san. She’s very pure-hearted, but extremely shy, averts eye-contacts and avoids people like a little animal. She’s physically small too. Her height is not even 5 feet tall. Yet, she has fairly a good size of chest. And her personality is very much like me! Yeah, I listed all the phobias I have in this article, and I think it perfectly fits her too. I think she can’t cope with stressful social interaction due to hypersensitivity to criticism and rejection. Even teacher’s constructive criticism is painful to her. Same with me! I totally understand you, Sae-chan! Let’s run away and elope together!

I like spring, because it's pokapoka.

Which season does she like? She answers, “I like spring, because it is pokapoka(warm).” The way she chooses the word. Pokapoka is so childish, immature, adults usually don’t use that word, but OMG, if she uses it, it’s cuuuutee!!!! Vivaldi must be dancing in his grave! Mo…mo…moe~!

I can't have a bitter drink. So, I put a lot of milk and sugar.

And she can’t drink coffee. How cute! So, she puts milk and sugar in it. Me too! I don’t like coffee. I can’t have caffeine. Coffee makes your heart dirty. All salarymen are dirty. 3-D (market fundamentalist society) stresses out people to consume coffee and cigarette. So, I always order decaf, and put cream to ease its bitterness. Cigarette is big NO! It’s just vice. Yeah, I’m sensitive to caffeine and nicotine, world deadliest stimulants, so I avoid them. It’s the smell of 3-D. So, I avoid French café but I love French maids. We don’t want to contaminate maids with secondhand smoke. Yes, decaffeinated maids! That is  maider’s café! I’m a maider, a person devoted to maid. Let’s celebrate May Day, maid-day = maiday, m’aider!

She just transferred from all girls school to coed. Man, it must be rough for her. Her sense of inadequacy is alerted. She can’t fit in, so she finds herself alone. Well, she was bullied by boys in kindergarten, and still today, she feels high-strung to talk to men. Yeah, I’m androphobic too because of the similar experience with macho men. So, we do have a lot in common!

Did I finally meet..
my only prince I had believed for a long time?

Did I finally meet my only prince I had believed for a long time?” Oh man, that line! Guha! That line penetrated my heart! I almost died from that phrase! My heart almost exploded! Auu… She’s just sweet, as if she still believes in Santa Claus. She’s the beautiful dreamer. She can still have a dream even in this cruel 3-D world! I just want to hug her!

"Sometimes I make an obento, so let's..."

Ah, when she made obento, I was just flabbergasted. “I sometimes make obento, so…let’s…” With that Tenshinhan’s kikoho hand gesture and how she looks at you straight into your eyes, blushing her cheeks! And that upward glance… my entire body would melt away! I don’t think any guy can refuse her obento! Pokapoka bento! Bento-magic!

Ah, no girl made obento for me in high school! What a melancholic high school years! Yes, lack of skinship is the reason I left that stupid country. But also lack of emotional exchange, especially in a form of obento, cooked specifically for me, I didn’t get to eat any of that. Life is unfair! Give me back my adolescence! I wish I could be 17 again! I want to redo my life as though pressing the reset button! But I can’t, so only sadness remains. I totally agree with Inoue Kikuko‘s cult, 17 year old is the best time. “She was just 17, you know what I mean!

"Senpai. Do you have a girlfriend?"

And she asks if you have a girlfriend! Ah, no girl asked me if I had a girlfriend in high school. How sad… Life is not fair.

"Would you...hold...my hand?" Uru-uru beam from her eyes.

And she even asks you to hold her hand. I mean she’s really shy, so it’s amazing for her to ask that. That takes courage! A whole otakus applauded her. She deserves Purple Heart! Ah, just cute. Yes, of course, any time! I can hold your hand anytime you want. I mean, I want to hold your hand!

Ah, and the ending of Amagami SS, Nakata Sae version. Golly! Her singing sucks, Simon Cowell would tear her apart. But that also adds on top of her cuteness. Clumsiness enhances it. Yes, might is right, cuteness is might! She makes us purified. Whenever otakus see a uru-uru (watery eyes) beam from her eyes, they comment, “Ahhhh! Don’t look at me like that. I’m defiled. My whole body is made of dirt, so I would be evaporated to nothing if you look at me like that.

You know, we’ve all become cynical pessimists growing up. So, we lost our innocence. And we stopped dreaming. But, MLK’s speech was a wake-up call for not only Americans but all grownups. Yes, Nakata Sae represents the hope we lost a long time ago. When I was 17…

Yeah, we’re not pure enough to date her. But, it’s 2-D! It’s okay to date!!! Femme moetical. That’s how we regain purity! Purity of the 17 years old! Fragrant meadow of adolescence. Paradise regained! That’s the quintessence of moe!

  1. Wow, I may have to change my shirt from all the passion that flew out of my screen via this article!! I’ve not had the opportunity to actually play this game, but you’re getting me excited for the new arc! Let’s see what happens!!

    1. @Ehrgheiz

Thank you very much for the comment! Yeah, Nakata Sae perfectly fits my personality. She is like a female version of me! That makes me drawn to her very passionately, or moetically.

  2. Ah! >~< So cute! I want to watch this series just to see this girl! she sounds so CUTE! ^^
And she small, small + cute = Head explosion!
I have a major cute moe, my friends could back me up on that….^///^
Aww! I want to cuddle her! X3

    1. @Ichigo Princess

Hahahahahah!!!!! I totally can tell how you feel! I feel the same way about her! Head Explosion! Moe moe kyun!

    1. @Ehrgheiz

Hahaha! Thanks for the update! Sae-chan rules! She’s the moetical climax!

    1. @Ueki

Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed! Yeah, she is our hope, one giant leap for humanity!

  3. btw , is there a way to get the game.
I tried the torrentz and it failed me so far, xD

I want to try the Sae arc. the anime moves so slow. 3 episodes of her sweet arc is over, yet no proper progress T_T

    1. @Ueki

I want to get PS2 and Amagami, but region lock prevents me from doing so.

Yeah, I know how you feel…the anime is just a brief summary of it. Too short, making me cry. That’s why when I saw the anime first, I wasn’t really into it until I checked the original on Niconico. Niconico has no English subtitles, so it’s not suitable for non-Japanese speakers.

      Anyway, here’s some of original Sae-chan, http://www.nicovideo.jp/tag/%E4%B8%AD%E5%A4%9A%E7%B4%97%E6%B1%9F

  4. thanks, I will chq those 🙂

well I dont think the region restrictions mater, if you play it using an emulator * cough * *cough *

  5. Oddly, she is my favorite charter, but my least favorite story ark.

why did they change the style of the anime so suddenly and so drastically? a voice over? I’m not a fan of seeing a nice moe moment ruined by a snarky comment from a man you don’t know or see or have never heard before in the anime.

I understand this ark was meant to be a lot more light hearted but it seemed pointless to set a “kannon” tone and then suddenly switch it to “To love ru” mid way through. i would have preferred a bit more serious Nakata ark.

Perhaps it would have annoyed me as much if they didn’t do this joke orientated story ark with my personal favorite charter.

It reminds of shuffle, they picked my least favorite character, and by no fault of the anime. it made it not as good to watch anymore.

    1. @woo

I see, I kind of understand you. Yes, anime is kind of lame, I mean the drawing is much better in the game. Yes, that narration was kind of awkward too. Didn’t really fit in.

Haven’t checked out Shuffle. I heard about it a lot. The characters look really angelic! I’m already feeling moetical energy from them. I will try to watch it if I have time. I also didn’t like Amagami SS first, but after I checked out the game version on niconico, I fell in love with the characters, especially Nakata Sae-tan! Morishima-senpai and Kaoru are my second favorites. Well, SS was supposed to mean “second story” to the game, not SS from Nazi. So, it meant to be different from the original.

Btw, which character do you love the most from Amagami?

  6. “Btw, which character do you love the most from Amagami?”

Mmm.. thats a problem for me ive still not finished it. after the Nakata ark i decided to try cowboy bebop as something to watch at the same time.then i got entranced by it and haven’t watched amagami since. although i do plan to pick it back up very, very soon. Its hard to watch amagami because every 4th episode it makes you feel like its over and its easy to stop watching it.

But i will say that Nakata is the best. Ive always had a thing for shy girls in anime, and they seem never to get choosen by the male leads. but Kaoru is a very, very close second.

Its been ages since ive seen shuffle. I just remember that the character i liked the most, not only wasn’t picked but went through a few episodes of, basically mental torture and sadness. and she was replaced by the girl i liked the least.

I can see now why harem rarely make the lead male pick a girl.

“Yes, anime is kind of lame, I mean the drawing is much better in the game”

The only dating sim I’ve ever played was one made in flash, a free one about love hina, bad drawings basic gameplay. I would love to play a real one.

I do enjoy harem though. and the anime version of the show is all i have, unless it has a manga. although this show seems like a harem for only those that enjoy haerems or the original game.

Have you ever seen kimi ni todoke? seems like something you may love. no anime has hit me with feeling of “Moe” more.

    1. Wow, you too? Right on! Yes, Nakata Sae-tan rules! She is our salvation! And Kaoru the 2nd? How close our taste is! That’s amazing!

Yeah, I thought I loved assertive girls with leadership, super energetic leading me like Kaoru, but Sae-chan has made me discover that I love shy quiet gentle girls also. It was revelation! Sae-chan is indeed shy, but she tries to conquer me. Yes, shy but romantically assertive! That’s like a reversed Tsundere! She shyly offers me obento, thus she makes the move first. Assertive by making the first move, but shyly asking me to join lunch. Her every move is shy, and that’s divinely cute! Who would be able to refuse her! She’s far more courageous than any 3-girl I know! Ahhh, I really want to hug her!

Definitely can’t find a Sae-chan-like girl in 3-D, not in America, nor in Northern Ireland! Has your Northern Ireland experience partly influenced your moetical preference for shy girls in 2-D?

Yes, I understand, very short indeed. Only 4 episodes. In turn, the game has like 30 episodes for each ark.

So, Shuffle only had one ark? Yes, the game, you can choose a character, but anime, you can’t. Well, Amagami is an anime that has every ark, so you can choose, but too short to enjoy. Yeah, the original is definitely better!

Yes, Kimi Ni Todoke! Right on! Great anime! Sadako, the seiyuu was Goddess-like, Noto Mamiko! Divine voice! Moetical voice! Her voice is the best lullaby.

  7. “Has your Northern Ireland experience partly influenced your moetical preference for shy girls in 2-D? ”

Yes most likely, a shy girl here is just unheard off. there far more assertive here, but in a bad sense. far more rude, or blunt. relationships last for mere weeks. people don’t go out with each other because they like each other, they do it because of social pressure from peers. It kind of forces people to go out. you get that in America as well, i think.

    1. I see, thank you for sharing that.

Right, I never saw a girl as shy as Sae-chan in America. Most likely, just being stuck-up. American girls aren’t assertive romantically. They never ask guys out. Even though they like to date men, they always expect men to make the first move. And if a man doesn’t, they will call him a “coward.” Worse than being called “shy.” Yes, it’s peer pressure. In turn, girls don’t get called “coward” by not asking boys out. And they get a free pass not paying anything for a dinner date or movie night. Very machismo.

  8. I think woman seek confidence in a man the most, you hear it all the time. it just so happens that the chavs of the world seem to be ones with the most confidence. what better way to display your confidence than striding up to a woman and asking her out. I don’t think hats ever going to change however, its not a matter of sexism or men being chauvinist but more a primal part of the human brain. females seek confident males.

I’ve a friend who’s also quite the shut-in, but his passion is Online gaming, were quite similar, but, were as i would try and avoid conversion my friend basically tells people about how much he hates them, and wishes to be home, not socializing. He does it with such arrogance and lituary grace that it has a reverse effect, people like it for it. Its his confidence, he doesn’t care about the results he merely speaks his mind.

    Buddha
“You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”

I’m not a Buddhist, hell im not even religious but i think those are wise words.

    1. @woo

It is the matter of sexism and machismo that have dominated the human history for a long time. And machismo has had a bad effect and has slow down the evolution of women, that’s why their brains still primarily react to violent males. So, I have joined the feminist movement to dismantle machismo. I’ve held placards up high, marched with feminists, even a hikikomori sometimes gets out of his cocoon and goes out for something he strongly believes in. And that is the real confidence, kindness to all women, while machomen are just striding up to women, thinking about only conquering them, while I’ve been striding and marching on the street for women. I really dream that women would one day be powerful and independent as depicted in anime, yes, like 2-D girls.

That’s awesome about him. His defiance to 3-D society is confidence. Voluntary hikikomoriness! Mine is involuntary alienation.

That’s a cool quote. I came from a Buddhist culture. But I’m not a Buddhist. I’m just an otaku/hikikomori. Yes, an otaku deserves love, that’s true. I need skinship with 3-D girls. Yet, no girl…so, I’ll get love from 2-D girls…
