Heh, thanks. I don't think my Sunday School teacher was flirting with me, really. I was pretty visibly a loner then (sometimes I still am), and I think she was being compassionate and caring. Which is the sort of thing that a young mind can sometimes confuse with romance. I know I've made that mistake before.

I sometimes feel I'm much more eloquent in prose than I am in ordinary speech, though I can give a good public presentation sometimes.

Thanks for dropping by. :) I've subscribed to your blog's feed, I'll definitely be reading up regularly from now on!

What a refreshingly sweet post!

Maybe all those women were flirting with you because they sensed your future ability to eloquently express your honest emotions? Just a guess.... ;)

That's where we differ then! I detest Hayate no Gotoku to the point of shuddering, since it obviously is not an anime meant for me. But InuxBoku..hehehe..

Merry Xmas, what a sad ending.. but you really wouldn't expect looking at Sakamoto in that movie to his current apperances. Still the song and music is absolutely devine.

Hmm.. to try out new color eyes.. people change it with contact lens. ^_^ I tried it with blue contact lenses before, but like you.. I als have typical Asian eyes. ^_^ It really wasn't as apparent.

I also got disinterested in Papakiki after Lolis are put in distress. That's just unacceptable to me.

I had an opportunity to watch Inu x Boku with my fellow otakus, but youkai/butler isn't my cup of tea. It reminds me a bit of Kaicho wa maid sama, an ikemen constantly stalking her and at the same time protecting her from danger. I like Hayate no gotoku much better though.

He does look like David Bowie! Ikemen rockstar from the 70s. The different eye colors are extremely sexy to some males too, it also made Sakamoto Ryuichi sexually confused in an Oshima Nagisa's film, Merry Xmas Mr. Lawrence. Ah, I wish I had these colorful eyes too, but mine are just small black dots, very typical Japanese eyes...

Well, it was very nice to complimented. I sometimes wonder what my life would have been like had I made different decisions all those years ago..ever have the feeling like you'd want to go back in time and redo the mistakes of the past? It's not really a healthy feeling, though. But it certainly made my day then, which is why I still remember the moment 17 years later.

At that age pretty much the only women who showed me much kindness or skinship of any sort were a few years older than me. I don't remember my teacher being surrounded by guys, though. I still felt special though. She wasn't the only person to encourage me to write—my fifth grade teacher probably gets first recognition for that—but was one of many people who helped me along. It's kind of astonishing that the seeds planted then are still bearing fruit now, as I rework those ideas.

You're welcome. This was a pleasure to write, and probably helped heal the sickness I had yesterday. (Though I hope the girls I talked about, who are women now, don't read this! That would be very hazukashii. :) )

Thanks, Charles. It was one of those things that just came out...I was sick yesterday and for some reason I had the ED of Ano Natsu running through my head all day. It called up all these memories and I just had to write them down.

You'll know when the novel is ready for public scrutiny. Keep an eye out. :)
