ADV Films New Release Sale

ADV is celebrating their 15th anniversary by charing only $15 for the volume 1 releases of Air, Innocent Venus, Red Garden, and Welcome to the NHK.

Sale.

Ray’s take: All right, 3/5 points for trying. But take a good look and one can see that Air and Welcome to the NHK are in there. Red Garden has an interesting concept similar to Disney. I don’t know much about Innocent Venus. But for American DVDs $15 per DVD is extremely cheap. If the DVD productions are done right then this is actually a good deal.

About the Author

I'm a hardcore Anime Fan and I'm proud of it. I know so many things and I've acquired so much knowledge you wouldn't believe. But my love is anime. I've been drifting in this world for so long that I don't even know what an anchor means. I've seen so many shows that I've lost count. The only thing I'm sure of myself is that I care for the lowly and disenfranchised. I hate the rich and powerful and I love what I do, or what I can do. I like anime and I don't mind watching different types of shows. I have experience in different types of Japanese animation. I would be called an "expert" in a bizzaro world. One day, I'd like to start a revolution. I love the US, pizza, beer, sashimi, Chinese food, and steak. But I love freshly baked bread more than a well-aged steak. In reality, if I were born Japanese I'd be a real, hardcore Otaku. I love to love and I can hate strongly. I'm passionate in nature and I don't mind shedding tears. Innocent Venus is hilariously bad. Props to ADV.

You do realize that there is a sale for more than just volume one DVDs. And why the hell would you buy DVDs for a series a volume at a time. It will cost you too much doing it that way. Wait until the box set comes out. It will be cheaper that way in the long run.

Only thing is that I’m not sure every series gets a boxset. I’ve not really been much of buyer of anime DVDs until recently.

Yeah, but… if no one ever bought volume one DVDs, they’d go out of business. Dubbing is expensive, even though there are people out there who don’t listen to dubs (myself included) they still have to make them for the majority. Sales of individual volumes are the only way they can recoup those costs. I usually wait for box sets myself, but I do buy individuals too when I can.

I would only consider buying DVDs a volume at a time for series that I really love.
