Someone: indeed, it's very sad that so many people are missing out on some works of real aesthetic beauty. Most people in my own country have a hard time thinking of anime as anything but sex and violence and so they miss works like this or the important Grave of the Fireflies, and don't realize that animation can be a very powerful medium for film and storytelling.

I hear Makoto Shinkai is working on an even longer feature film now. I hope it's good!

One of the best Anime I’ve ever been allowed to witness.
Beatiful Art, Soundtrack, Story and Characters.
It’s movies like this one that make me cry when I realise that, because most of my surroundings do not like Anime, most of them will never be able to see the beauty of this masterpiece.

I just saw this movie recently. It is kind of irritating how I can’t seem to refer it to anything. I have this huge urge to talk about it in everything I say or type. I’d love for it to be my Kevin Bacon. …You know, how every single celebrity can be traced back to Kevin Bacon? I also saw Toki Wo Kakeru Shoujo. That also isn’t really something I can talk about when someone asks what I ate for breakfast. “What’d you eat for breakfast?” “Oh I only drank milk. You know in Toki Wo Kakeru Shoujo, Makoto often woke up late for school and only had time to drink milk.” “…huh?” I can only make strange references like that. Damn it all.
