I first caught it at the AX premiere in 2001, with a capacity filled auditorium, and it was a blast. And it was one of those few times that in the viewings afterward, the film lost none of its punch. It also thrills in just how seamlessly international it is. But I'm also a big admirer of works that take the vampire myth into grittier territory, and this one fit the bill quite nicely. I'm also a fan of its brevity. I love that it leaves us to ponder things without any clear explanation.

I only watched Blood the movie and it was really worth the experience, even if it was a little too short. Great animation and plot.

Mizuno-san's works demand a full-on experience in sight and sound, definitely. Her forms of kawaii grotesque adorn many of my old Starbucks hot tea cups!

Great list. I tend to drift away from horror stuff, but I have read or seen most of these.
My favorite twisted/horror/bizarre series is anything Junko Mizuno does. I think her works will be collectors items in the future as interest goes and comes. Who can't love versions of fairy tales with blood, gore, cannibalism, and twisted plots? All while trying to be as cute as possible? I'd love to see an anime done in her style.
